You have overcome challenges, developed your knowledge and skills, and prepared yourselves for a profession dedicated to caring for others. You should be proud of what you have achieved.

To the families, friends, teachers, and staff who have supported you throughout this journey: thank you. Your encouragement and guidance have helped make this day possible.

Graduates, your qualification represents both achievement and responsibility. As you move towards professional practice, remember that every patient deserves careful listening, respect, compassion, and safe care.

Many of you will now prepare to seek registration with the Chinese Medicine Council of New Zealand. As you take this next step, uphold professional ethics, practise with cultural safety, and meet the standards expected of health practitioners in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Your learning does not end today. Continue to deepen your knowledge and refine your skills in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and Tuina, according to your scope of practice. Stay curious, welcome feedback, and seek guidance when you need it.

Remain grounded in Chinese Medicine while building respectful, collaborative relationships with other healthcare professionals. Working together helps us serve our patients better.

Looking ahead, we hope to see further development of Chinese Medicine in New Zealand. Important goals include enabling registered acupuncturists to lodge ACC injury claims and expanding opportunities for Chinese Medicine services in public hospitals, rest homes, and other community healthcare settings. These aspirations will require ongoing advocacy, collaboration, and a clear commitment to safe, effective care.

You can help shape that future. Through your professionalism, integrity, and dedication to your patients, you will strengthen trust in Chinese Medicine and demonstrate the contribution it can make.

Thank you also for enriching our college community, including through your involvement in events such as the Auckland Lantern Festival. You will always be part of our community, and we encourage you to stay connected.

As you begin this new chapter, move forward with confidence, humility, and compassion.

Congratulations once again. We wish you fulfilling careers and every success in the years ahead.

Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa.

Stephen Xu

CEO

9 Oct 2026

Kia ora koutou, tēnā koutou katoa.
