Position1: Chinese Medicine Lecturer and Clinic Supervisor

New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine is a Private Training Organisation, delivering master’s and bachelor’s degrees, diploma and foundation programmes in Chinese Medicine. We are currently looking for a lecturer in Chinese Medicine for our degree programmes. We are seeking to appoint a person who has the drive and passion for teaching excellence.

The successful applicant will be passionate about tertiary education, highly motivated, and able to positively relate to a variety of cultures as our students and teaching staff reflect diversity.

We require a dynamic, performance-driven, and experienced individual to join our busy team. This is a full-time position based in Auckland. However, a part-time position is also available for domestic candidates depending on the applicant’s experience and qualifications.

The Role

  • Teach postgraduate and undergraduate Chinese Medicine programmes which include Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal medicine.
  • Preparing teaching and learning lessons as well as the assessment preparation.
  • Clinic supervisor roles.
  • There is also a research role and you will be provided guidance from the Research Leader on the nature and standard of the College research, research planning, literature and information sources.
  • Course administration and coordinating roles.
  • Academic and pastoral support to ensure that maximum student learning and retention is achieved.

Your Profile

  • Master or PhD in Chinese Medicine.
  • Appropriate clinical practice experience in relation to Acupuncture, Tuina and herbal medicine.
  • Tai Chi coaching experience.
  • Effective communication skills within learning situations related to relevant subject area/s of discipline – for speakers of English language as a second language to IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
  • Experience in assessment-moderation is preferred, but training and support is available.
  • Capacity to engage in research relevant to discipline.
  • Meet Chinese Medicine Council of New Zealand (CMCNZ) registration requirements.
  • Preference will be given to applications with experience in New Zealand.
